The Authoritative Blog on Stamford Connecticut

This past weekend I visited the Stamford Mall for the first time in quite some time. I was glad to see they have finally made some progress with their food court. The malls lack of restaurants always helped make the place a real second rate shopping experience compared to some other area malls. Anyway, it nice to see that they created a nice big seating area and a place for kids to play. So far only Panda Express, Sbarro, Subway and Sole Mex have opened up. Anyone eaten from Sale Mex yet? It looks like there is room for maybe another 2-3 fast food joints in the space.
Compared to the White Plains mall, parking at the Stamford Town Center is a steal. 50 cents gets you 3 hours and no stupid tickets and cashiers to deal with! Somehow I feel this cheap parking will be short lived.

There’s also a place called great wraps. I haven’t tried Sole Mex since they re-opened, but my co-workers have given them good reviews. I used to frequent them before they renovated the footcourt and they were decent. I work at Landmark Square, so I eat at the food court several times a week. I give thumbs up to Subway, Greatwraps and Sole Mex and thumbs down to Panda Express and Sabarro’s. Currently subway has footlong subs at $5.
I going to revise my assessment on subway to a Thumbs Down based on my experience there today. All started out well when I got my $5 sub. the first half was delicious. After taking a bite into my second half I noticed a what appeared to be human hair in my sandwhich. Upon further examination, I found several long and curly hair from I assume the female who assembled my sandwich. While I understand that these things happen, this amount of hair falling into my sandwich and not being notice is unbelievable. To make matters worse, when I brought back my uneaten half of my lunch and told the gentleman working the register, he tried to charge me $4.65 for the half of the half of the sandwhich which I already paid for. Eventually they made me another half of sandwich free of charge, but I’m kind of skeved out and will probably just throw it away.
I’ve tried all the new food court restaurants, and I really like them. Sole Mex is very good, and I enjoyed the breath of fresh air in the service.
Great Wraps is also a great addition, as the mall needed a good wrap place.
Also slated to open is a gelato place, a couple of others.
The play area is great for kids and brings parents back, which is also great.
I like the new Food Court too. The place is very bright and cheerful. Try the Gyros at Great Wraps…yummm.
